LANCASHIRE Lynx boss Steve Hampson has blasted the League bosses for making teams play two games in four days over the Easter holiday.
Hampson's paper-thin squad were annihilated 4-40 by Widnes Vikings on Easter Monday, which followed Good Friday's 16-58 defeat at the hands of Barrow.
Hampson fumed: "For a small squad it is very difficult to field a team so soon after the last game.
"The performance on Monday was a lot better than Friday's, but we still had a lot of players out of position.
"There was commitment and guts displayed on the field and I thought we were in with a shout."
Hampson pointed to Doc Murray as an example of the spirit in the team, saying he played well out of position and "set a good example."
Things will be tough for the team this weekend when they play local rivals Leigh Centurions at Victory Park on Sunday. A couple of loan signings are expected to arrive before the match to ease the burden on the thread-bare squad.
Hampson added: "The other clubs are being none too helpful as we look for players."
Scrum-half Neil Flanagan won't be back for a fortnight, while Steve Gee, Shaun Geritas and Tommy Hodgkinson are all ruled out of the Leigh clash.
