A CURTAIN firm has crossed the border to save jobs at a Yorkshire fabric design firm.
Denise Fabrics of Blackburn has bought out Huddersfield firm Wilson Wilcox which went into administration in January.
Wilson Wilcox designs and supplies co-ordinating furnishing fabrics and wallcoverings to UK and overseas customers and has a turnover of around £5 million a year.
"Wilson Wilcox is one of Huddersfield's youngest and most dynamic companies and we intend to take the business forward building on the success already achieved," said Ian Aitcheson of Denise Fabrics, which manufactures ready-made curtains and accessories.
WIlson Wilcox fell into difficulties after its former parent firm stopped funding a five-year expansion programme.
Joint administrator Peter Terry, head of KPMG Corporate Recovery in the North of England, said: "We are delighted to have sold Wilson Wilcox as a going concern and without job losses."
