LABOUR MP Dave Watts has welcomed the news that Bleak Hill Primary School is to benefit from extra funding of more than £2.3million for the replacement and extension of the school as part of the Government's New Deal for Schools.
The MP for St Helens North, said: "Parents, teachers and pupils at the school will welcome this investment which will upgrade the school and support higher standards of education. It is good to see the New Deal for schools, along with other capital programmes, making a real dent in the repairs backlog.
"The announcement is a visible part of the Government's large programme of investment in education, which will help to improve our schools step by step."
