ST HELENS bobbies are gearing up for the Cancer Research Campaign's Relay for Life, when they hope to raise £1,110.
The team is one of several taking part in the 24-hour relay round the Sutton Community Leisure Centre athletics track, starting at 10am on Saturday, May 15, and finishing at 10am the following day.
The aim is to persuade as many teams as possible to unite against a common enemy - cancer.
Organiser Chris Burgess, said: "St Helens Relay for Life is your chance to make 24 hours really count and to pay tribute to someone you know, or knew with cancer by dedicating your effort to your loved one.
"You can help beat cancer by joining the St Helens community bobbies and other teams taking part and raising money for the campaign's pioneering programme of research."
Chris adds: "Perhaps you have beaten cancer, or maybe you are still embroiled in your battle with the disease. Either way, why not join the survivors' lap and show that cancer can be beaten."
If you would like to enter a team, or want to take part in the survivors' lap, contact Chris on 0151 252 0081.
