FORMER Bury and Bolton Wanderers footballers will take part in a charity football match at Radcliffe Borough's Stainton Park ground on Sunday, April 25.
Seventies Shakers heroes Derek Spence, Steve Hoolickin and Gerry Keenan will join former Burnden Park favourites Phil Brown and Peter Nicholson for an all-stars versus Hurdles fixture.
Hurdles, based at the Herbert Coates Community Centre on Morley Street in Bury, supports the families of children with disabilities.
The group's patron is Middlesbrough manager and former Manchester United midfield dynamo Bryan Robson.
Stars from stage and screen are also expected to take part, but this has yet to be confirmed. A car boot sale will be held from 9am at the Pilkington Road venue; the game kicks off at 1pm. Car-booters can set up from 8am. Pitches cost £6 for cars and £8 for vans.
Hurdles fund-raising administrator Samantha Tarrier said: "As with many small charities, the main way in which our organisation survives is through our own efforts.
Radcliffe Borough have kindly granted us permission to use their ground, but in order for this event to be a success we will need to sell a substantial number of tickets. All the proceeds will be used to directly benefit the families that use the centre."
And in a bid to encourage local people to go along, Samantha added: "Come and meet the stars and get their autographs throughout the afternoon. With your help this could be a fantastic afternoon for the families of Hurdles."
Tickets priced £1.50 are available from Hurdles on 797 0082.
