ANDY Payton's match-winning brace against Colchester means he has equalled his second best ever season's total for League goals.
The Clarets striker has now scored 17 times in the League this term to match the number he scored for Hull in 1989/90, for Barnsley in 1995/96 and for Huddersfield Town the following season.
The ultra-consistent Payton, with 20 goals in all competitions, now has his sights set on the 25 he scored in 43 games in Hull's 1990/91 First Division campaign.
FORMER Clarets defender Steve Blatherwick celebrated scoring his first goal in four years when he put Chesterfield ahead against Stoke City on Monday.
However, an equaliser from Stoke's David Oldfield effectively killed off Chesterfield's play-off hopes.
BURNLEY reserves return to action at Turf Moor on Wednesday night when they entertain Wolves (kick-off 7.15).

YORK City are deep in relegation trouble but at least the club has received one award this season.
Bryan Horner has been named as the Nationwide Second Division groundsman of the year for his work on the Bootham Crescent pitch. The Premier League award went to Arsenal's Steve Braddock, while Oxford's Mick Moore won the First Division award and Ian Darler of Cambridge United the third.
The awards were based on referees' remarks, club nominations and the advice of Dr Stephen Baker of the Sports Turf Research Institute.
FULHAM may yet benefit from the influence of Kevin Keegan in the build-up to their game at Burnley on the penultimate weekend of the season.
National boss Keegan was set to leave the preparation of his club team to his staff with England due to be playing in Hungary three days before the Turf Moor clash.
But the friendly international may be scrapped which will leave Keegan free to relax with his Fulham side which will probably be Second Division champions by then.
