BIS, at Liverpool Lomax
HEADLINING the Wiiija Records tour, Glasgow's Bis are like three heroes who have leapt from the pages of a Marvel comic.
Currently enjoying huge success in Japan, and with rising popularity here, world domination could be just around the corner. Their latest album has just hit the streets and the deadly trio's brand of punky pop has definitely matured, despite, for pigeon-holing purposes, remaining firmly in the '80s.
Bis will, however tell you that they don't care about their retro tag.
"Pop music's not going to die - it's just got no direction," scoff Manda Rin and Sci-Fi Steven, their rasping vocals terrorising the front row.
John Disco on guitar is another sight to behold, throwing all the rock shapes imaginable, his overgrown sideburns bristling. Bis are good fun and resistance is futile.
