THREE autistic youngsters from Burnley benefited from state-of-the-art sound and light therapy in London - thanks to the fund-raising efforts of big hearted members of Ighten Leigh Social Club.
Four-year-olds Declan Edmondson, Curtis Whittle and Luke Blacklock received two weeks' treatment after the club raised £10,000 to help them.
Improvements in speech and behaviour are already apparent, says club stewardess and fund-raiser Tracey Allen.
And continued benefits from the therapy are expected in the months ahead.
On Tuesday night Anne Mbachu, the chief therapist at the clinic, which is recognised and used by the NHS, will come to Burnley to give a talk on the work of the centre to anyone interested in the special care.
