ARTWORK by women across Pendle which will raise awareness of diabetes in the Asian community goes on display tomorrow .
Last year the Preston Community Arts Project (PRESCAP) and the Pendle Pakistan Welfare Association (PPWA) ran workshops for women using art to explore issues relating to diabetes.
The women produced a set of six postcard designs carrying health-related slogans and a helpline number offering more information on diabetes.
A spokesman for PRESCAP said: "The project represents valuable work in raising awareness of diabetes within the Asian community as diabetes is a major cause of ill health among ethnic minority communities."
The show is at Silverman Hall, Pendle Street, Nelson, tomorrow and will be attended by officials of Pendle Council, Burnley General Hospital the PPWA and the British Diabetic Association.
