Watford 2 Bolton Wanderers 0
COLIN Todd has tried manfully to keep the lid on his emotions but on Saturday he finally snapped.
Little wonder for Bolton, once with more than in an interest in automatic promotion to the Premier League, but now even uncertain about a play-off place, have managed only one win in their last 10 games.
That dismal run continued at Vicarage Road and Todd fumed: "Bitterly disappointed is only the half of it. I wonder if the result hurts the players as much as it hurts me. We have ability, of that there is no question, but ability counts for nothing if you haven't got the heart required. We have lost confidence and we need to get it back."
Bolton have never won at Watford and but for new keeper Steve Banks they would have been on the wrong end of a pasting.
As it was Micah Hyde's 20-yard shot and Tommy Mooney's header settled things for Watford who even saw Banks save a penalty from Mooney after just two minutes.
