Accrington Stanley 3 Marine 2
BATTLING Stanley kept their hopes of avoiding the drop alive with a stunning Billy O'Callaghan winner as time ran out.
Wayne Harrison's side raced into a two-goal lead after only 14 minutes of this UniBond Premier League clash at the Crown Ground.
Their opener had come on seven minutes when Chris Ingham played a defence-splitting pass to O'Callaghan who made no mistake.
Seven minutes later, Gareth Seddon broke down the right to put in a low cross for Paul Heavey to turn the ball past goalkeeper Chris Clarke.
Heavey also had the ball in the Marine net again on 17 minutes but it was ruled offside.
Stanley goalkeeper Jamie Speare made a good save from John Morgan on 19 minutes but was beaten a minute later by an Andriano Rigolioso shot.
Marine kept up the pressure on the Reds in the second half and equalised on 61 minutes when a cross from Mark Nulty was headed out by a Stanley defender, only for Barry McMillan to shoot home from 15 yards.
Livewire O'Callaghan twice had shots well saved by Clarke.
Then on 81 minutes a long ball by Ged Walsh evaded two Marine defenders and O'Callaghan fired home his 30th goal of the season to keep Stanley's UniBond status still hanging by a thread.
