REGARDING your Insight report (LET, April 2) on the boundary changes that came with local government reorganisation 25 years ago.
I was born in Earby some years ago and on my birth certificate it says West Riding of Yorkshire and I am very proud to be a Yorkshireman.
The Tory government has a lot to answer for, all because of their own greed for votes, not thinking of the proud Yorkshire folk.
I did not want to be classed with being with Colne or Nelson or with Pendle Council, under which, by the way, we even have to pay more council tax than them and they, Colne and Nelson, have all the amenities while we have to pay more for them. Why?
Everybody knows where the boundaries are. Just come out of Foulridge on your way to Earby - it's there standing proud.
I shall never accept Earby or Barnoldswick being in Lancashire - no disrespect to all you proud Lancashire men.
J PENMAN (Mr), Avon Drive, Barnoldswick.
