I READ Stephen Cummings's column every week and it is very gratifying to find that we do agree on an issue regarding the Burnley manager, Stan Ternent.
You headed it with "Questionable Tactics," which I have argued with my youngest son since he arrived, but to no avail.
The tactic of using the long ball up to Andy Payton in every match was ludicrous. Andy is lucky if he is 5ft 8in tall and what do we find, every centre half is 6ft or over. I have yet to see Andy get the ball. In the Manchester City match, Neil Moore was having a right stinker of a match and was responsible for the first three goals, even the fans were asking Stan to take him off, but no, it was only when he was injured he was taken off.
Stan persevered with Andy Cooke for weeks when the striker was off form, instead of trying one of the reserve players.
Now what have we had even more recently in the line of tactics - Andy Payton playing up front on his own. The mind boggles.
