ACCRINGTON Stanley must beat Winsford United at the Barton Stadium tonight to avoid relegation from the UniBond Premier Division.
The Reds earned themselves a stay of execution after an excellent 3-2 home victory over Marine at the weekend. But with just four games to play, Wayne Harrison's men are 12 points adrift of both Lancaster City and Runcorn and need maximum points from their remaining games to stand any chance of beating the drop.
Even then that might not be enough if Runcorn take anything from their game at Marine tonight or Lancaster win or draw against Leigh RMI on Saturday. But Harrison remains defiant and promises his injury-hit squad will fight to the death to avoid slipping into the First Division.
"Obviously, we need to win every game and we'll be giving it our all. The lads that have come in have done very well and hopefully they'll keep that going." Noel Horner, Paul Tomlinson, Mike Langhorn and Mark Howard are all out of tonight's clash but Paul Lynch should be back.
Bacup play Ashton Town tonight at West View (7.45pm).
