A HIGH level report out today has given Lancashire's police a clean bill of health.
Last summer, the police came under fire when Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary published a damning report on the force.
The inspector, Mr Dan Crompton, has just released the findings of a follow-up report. It was being discussed earlier today at a Lancashire Police Authority meeting.
Mr Crompton said in his report: "The force has responded openly, honestly and positively to the recommendations made.
"The management's style has changed for the better and now includes due regard for consultation.
"An improved corporate spirit prevails in the force and the balance of this report is supportive of the progress being made. This reflects well on the personal drive of the chief constable."
Mrs Clare said: "We won't be letting up just because we have a more favourable report, but it will give us an extra lift as we go about our work.
"We are starting to produce the right results with our performance. Crime and anti-social behaviour is falling, the number of road casualties is reducing and public satisfaction with our services is high.
"But there are many more challenges and every member of the force will be continuing to work hard at solving problems right across the communities of Lancashire."
