THE Clarets face an uphill task in their bid to avoid relegation from the Pontin's League First Division after losing to an experienced Wolves team.
The Clarets made a decent start with Phil Eastwood going close on 11 minutes.
But Steve Bull broke the deadlock on the half hour mark after he hit an Andrews cross first time giving Mawson no chance in the Clarets goal. Young Anthony Shandran nearly drew the Clarets level just before the interval after good work by Brad Maylett and Alex Kevan, but the striker pulled his effort just wide. Keith Andrew added a second for Wolves on the hour after Bull beat two defenders before setting up Jones whose blocked shot fell for Andrews to slot home.
The Clarets tried to get back into the game and Paul Graham just fired wide, but the closest the Clarets came to getting on the scoresheet was an Eastwood effort that struck the bar after good work in midfield from Kevan. Wolves grabbed a third through substitute Middleton on 80 minutes.
Burnley: Mawson, Reid, Morgan, Ford, West (Kelly), Heywood, Maylet, Graham (Collins), Eastwood, Shandran, Kevan (Callaghan).
