I AM seeking any information which would help me research the war service of my great uncle, 17378 Lance-Sergeant John Barker, who was a member of the 8th Battalion East Lancashire Regiment during the First World War.
Killed in action on February 27, 1917 and buried at the Maroc British Cemetery, near Loos in France, he was one of very few soldiers who enlisted at Northwich in Cheshire.
I would particularly like to hear from relatives of soldiers who served in the 8th Battalion who have any memorabilia, particularly photographs or written information. Any advice gratefully received.
