RISHTON have moved quickly to secure a replacement professional for South African Corrie Jordaan.
The Lancashire Leage club have signed New Zealand all-rounder Paul Wiseman (left).
The 28-year-old off-spinner has played five Tests, taking 13 wickets including a 5-82 haul and totalling 45 runs in eight innings with a top score of 23.
Wiseman, who plays for Otago, has also played six one-day internationals including a debut against India in Sharjah and his latest display, against Sri Lanka in Dhaka in 1998.
Rishton continue to hear reports that Jordaan, a controversial figure during his time in the Lancashire League with Rishton and Lowerhouse, has accepted a groundman's job in South Africa.
The slow left-armer told the club that he would have to stay at home because of a bad back injury.
Chairman Rod Simpson refuses to comment on suggestions that Jordaan's air fare had already been dispatched.
Edenfield will have Paul Ridgway as substitute professional for their opening game in the Jennings Ribblesdale League against Earby.
Ridgway, who is on the staff at Old Trafford, will deputise for Michael Smethurst who is currently playing in Lancashire's match against Sussex.
