LEIGH'S Royal Oak are a point away from clinching the NorthWest Counties ARL Division Five title.
And they reached the tip of the winning post with a champion-style performance to beat derby rivals Culcheth Eagles 40-30.
In a match of free-flowing rugby, Eagles had Oak pedalling backwards for 60 minutes.
But patience and fitness came to the fore as Oak turned on the style in the final quarter . . . a credit to coach Mick Fishwick.

LEIGH EAST Tigers U9s beat Pilkington Recs 44-18 with debut ace Lynden Robertson racing in for two long-range tries.
That earned him a share of the Most Improved award alongside Andrew Keating and Iain Jolley.
Top tackler and MoM Ben Taylor also scored twice with tries from Adam McGuire and Daniel Weaving, who also bagged two.
