PNE moved into third place in the table after this comfortable win against potentially tricky opposition. (PNE Girls U16s 5 WIGAN 0)
PNE took the lead after 10 minutes when Katie Anderton latched onto a through ball to lob the keeper from 18 yards.
The home side, with the wind at their backs, were in complete control and further goals from Katie Eastwood, Gemma Turner and Jo Ball meant they went into half time 4-0 in front.
In the second half Wigan failed to use the wind as effectively as the whites, and when they did threaten, Nat Brewer and Alison Taberner thwarted their attempts.
With 15 minutes left PNE put the game well and truly out of Wigan's reach when Jo Ball scored her second of the match to make the score 5-0.
Kate Anderton, returning from international duty with England, was in fine form in midfield and received the "girl of the match" award.
