LEIGH ATHLETIC turned on the style - at the double.
They scored two victories during the past week, the first a gritty 2-1 win at Smithillians, the second an 8-2 romp against Moston.
Gordon Walker was in magical form as Athletic hit back to beat Smithillians after going behind to a harsh penalty.
Danny Wilson and Craig Little scored from close-in in the dying minutes of a tense encounter.
An early gift gave Moston the lead in the second match, but Athletic equalised through Little and then dominated.
Little hit four to take his season's tally to 31, while also on target were Steve Marsh, Darren Barclay and a Richard Wilson double.
Athletic U16s have the whip hand over Bolton Lads Club.
In the league the Lads' only league blemish this season has been defeat against Athletic.
In the Cup quarter-final Athletic again showed their class with a 3-2 win, Phillips hitting his 53rd goal of the season, other goals from Parker and Wilcox; good defence from MoM Lindsay and Long.
The victory follows a record 17-1 at lowly Huyton, star strike Phillips hitting EIGHT - with eight other players also scoring including goalkeeper Smith from the spot.
