AS a parent at Brandlesholme CP school for the last 11 years, I would like to ask why nobody will listen to us. I thought this was a democratic country - obviously not when it comes to closing schools.
Brandlesholme CP has more than 40 good years to its name yet it is being closed, apparently because some of its intake are less fortunate than others.
The public meetings to discuss the closure were an insult and a waste of time. I believe the decision had already been made.
Our children have rights as well, that is why I think an amalgamation is the proper way forward. I am hopeful that there is light at the end of a very dark tunnel and that someone will take an interest in what we want, instead of sweeping us under the carpet as we have been up to now.
Finally I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Mr Young and all the staff on an excellent Ofsted report. I hope when it is published people sit up and think about the way the LEA have treated Brandlesholme CP. Diabolical is a word that springs to mind.
