TERRY Gennoe's marathon effort for Derian House was a sure-fire success, even before the ex-Rovers goalkeeper had run the first of his 26 miles in the London marathon.
Almost £2,000 was already guaranteed for the children's hospice, though Terry, education officer and goalkeeping coach at Ewood, was aiming to raise even more through sponsorship by completing the marathon.
