REGARDING your report (LET, April 2) about Blackburn with Darwen Council's horror at the amount of claims for accidents in the market, this is only half the story.
There are also claims for compensation going in from people who have tripped and fallen on broken pavements, butting their heads and breaking arms, legs etc.
These are reported time and time again. Yet, nothing is done to repair pavements or settle claims. I think councillors should give back their tenfold pay rise, lap-top computers and mobile phones or sell them. They could use the cash to pay the claims.
