BLACKPOOL Town Hall has become a collection point for donations for Kosovo refugees.
Council chiefs have set up a designated cash point in the main reception in response to a national appeal for financial aid.
Council leader Ivan Taylor said the council was keen to support the national call for cash to help alleviate the suffering of those caught up in the crisis.
He said: "The organisations involved in helping the Kosovo refugees say cash help is desperately needed to buy vital supplies. Setting up a collection point at such a well known and well used building is a practical way for the council to offer its help and support at the same time as making it more convenient for those who want to give."
Alternatively credit card donations to the Disasters Emergency committee can be made over the phone on (0870) 606 0900, or cheques can be sent direct to the DEC, PO Box 999, London, EC4A 9AA.
