WE want burgers! the kids are chanting in the playground. But what they must have are school dinners, not the fast food on offer from a van across the road, says the school.
It's a health and safety matter, says Darwen Moorland High which has banned pupils from the burger van.
It's an infringement on their right to trade, claim the couple with the business.
But, heck! - what is this beef? If the school is concerned about children crossing a road to buy burgers, why not admit the van to the safety of the playground?
Surely, if its school dinners are so good, it is not afraid of rivals.
