LOOKING through the list of Pendle candidates in the local elections (LET, April 10), one party took my eye - Labour Co-operative, for whom our Mayor, Colin Waite, is standing.
Is this a new party that has sprung up? And don't they believe in the New Labour Party under Tony Blair?
OLIVE SLATER (Mrs), Sussex Street, Nelson.
Footnote: The Co-operative Party is a sister group to the Labour Party and represents the interests of the Co-operative movement. Colin Waite is secretary of the Pendle branch of the North West and North Wales Co-operative Party.
The only other current Labour and Co-operative Party members on Pendle Council are husband and wife team Councillors Tim and Dorothy Ormrod.
