I FULLY agree with your editorial (LET, April 9) regarding the general state of educational provision in Blackburn since it became a unitary authority.
The whole thing is developing into a farce.
First, they want to shut special schools against the wishes of the parents, pupils and anyone with an ounce of common sense.
Now, they cannot provide decent secondary education for many of our children.
The new education officers of the authority appear to be out of their depth, but are still being listened to by councillors who know even less.
If the councillors want to do something useful, they could face up to the fact that the schools in Blackburn are now rapidly becoming all-white or all-Asian institutions.
Think of the problems that this could cause in the future.
Roll on the May elections.
