REGARDING "Responsibility is mothers'" (Letters, April 15), I am the mother who wrote the original letter the writer was replying to.

Firstly, there is a metal railing along the pavement all the way along the outside of Darwen Leisure Centre, so my daughter would not have run into the road.

Yes, the ramp is for access and exit to and from the place, but my daughter was coming out of there.

I do set my children examples in life and one is that life should be fun. There is plenty of time to be miserable.

I suppose Neil Clark is of the brigade that thinks children should be seen and not heard and one of the many people who were never a child themselves.

I will go shopping tomorrow for two pairs of reins for my six and eight year olds and teach them only to speak when spoken to. Then, perhaps the Mr Clarks of this world will be happy.
