THE search is on for East Lancashire people who can offer a Ukrainian child a home for two to three weeks.
The board of the Leleka Fund is searching for homes in East Lancashire so children who live near the Chernobyl nuclear disaster can breathe radiation-free air for a few weeks.
Yuri Slobodyanuk, fund president, said: "We hope to find some families or organisations which would be able to receive Ukrainian children for two to three weeks.
"This would give them an opportunity to breathe clean air and to eat fresh, free from radiation food.
"It would be a great opportunity for the children to be introduced to our culture and traditions as well."
Anyone who can help can write to the Leleka Fund at PO Box 328, Kiev-2, 253002, Ukraine.
