ORGANISERS of the Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Macmillan Nurse Appeal are just £26,000 short of their £220,000 target.
And they're hoping a series of recent fundraising events will make a big contribution to that.
Macmilan nurse Simon Stuart, joined Alistair Reid, landlord of the Black Bull pub, Blackburn, to complete the 26-mile London Marathon last weekend, pledging more than £2,500 between them.
While other recent donations include £380 from a sponsored silence at St Thomas' CE Primary, Blackburn, £300 from members of Spring Hill WMC, Accrington, £143 from workers at Gaskell Textiles, Rishton, £114 from Charles Gidman's book 'Looking Around in Spring' and £140 from readers of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
A ball at Northcote Manor, Blackburn,raised more than £16,000 from a gala charity ball.
A charity golf tournament at Mytton Fold Hotel and Golf Complex, Langho, was held last week, while Accrington Golf Club's Ladies Day is on May 15.
