GREETINGS from New Zealand. My name is Janet Marsh and I was born in St Helens in the 1950s and emigrated to New Zealand with my family in 1966.

In May of this year I'll be making my first trip back after almost 33 years (quite an experience).

I would like to make contact with my friends, especially school friends, of those two decades and I am writing to ask if you would put a few details in the St Helens Star.

My family lived in Gertrude Street, Nutgrove, and I was educated at Nutgrove Methodist Primary School and then went onto Central Modern.

During the years away from England I continued my education at Linwood High School and then went onto Canterbury and Otago Universities as a mature student. I've also worked in Thailand and travelled around South East Asia. Presently I'm working on a PhD in Systematic Theology, as well as being a part-time Methodist minister.

I married Alex Webster in 1972 and so we recently celebrated our 25th anniversary. We have three daughters; Liz, who works in Bangkok, Thailand; Katy, who lives and works in Warrnambool, Australia; and Anna, who is currently travelling overseas. Katy and Anna will be accompanying me to Britain.

My sister Christine and her husband Roger and family, live in Christchurch, New Zealand, while my brother and his wife, Lauren, live in London. Sadly, both of our parents, Alice and Jim, died a few years ago.

I would love to hear from anyone who remembers any of the Marsh family from those far-off days. I can be contacted on snail mail and E-mail.
