AN Atherton landmark is back home - thanks to The Journal and an observant Shakerley resident.
A windmill stolen from Kenneth and Betty Crossley's front garden at their Lovers Lane home recently was recovered from the Tyldesley estate on Thursday.
A delighted Betty said: "I'm more than chuffed to get it back, and it's all thanks to The Journal.
"Somebody on Shakerley saw the theft story in the paper and realised a similar windmill had appeared in a garden nearby.
"Whoever it was rang the police straightaway and they contacted me with the news. It's fantastic.
"I'd really like to thank the mystery person responsible for reporting the find to the police, the police themselves and of course The Journal without whose help no-one would have been any the wiser.
"The windmill is a bit battered and bruised, but nothing a bit of paint can't put right. It's just great to have my little landmark back."
