AS chairman of Elmport Limited, the management committee for residents of Daisyfield Court flats, I am writing to protest about the article (April 16) headlined "Night-Mayor Neighbours".
I can report that only one resident has formally complained about the noise made by this dog in the year that the mayor, Councillor Fitzgerald, has lived here. That complaint was made in writing to the committee and to the mayor several months ago, shortly after the mayor moved in. As a result, the mayor made arrangements for the dog to be looked after by relatives away from Daisyfield Court when she was out on official business and no further complaints were made either to the mayor or to the committee prior to the April 16 article.
The committee is in a difficult situation regarding inter-neighbour disputes - of which there are luckily very few at Daisyfield Court - and we attempt to remain strictly impartial. However, we feel that we must respond to this article.
