OVER 40 Leigh and Wigan churches are uniting to prepare for the visit of international evangelist, Luis Palau.
Over 4,300 Christians are combining to prepare venues and publicise events for the biggest evangelical event in the area for many years.
The seven day local mission will run from May 15 to 21.
Luis Palau, who has spoken to over 12 million people in almost 70 nations during the past 33 years, will be supported by fellow evangelists Dan Owens and Phil Corner.
He will also be backed by British celebrities including Fiona Castle, comedians Cannon and Ball, and singers Paul Jones and Fiona Hedley.
The Rev Tim Hall, organising the Wigan part of the mission, said: " The arrival of a world-renowned Christian communicator such as Luis Palau in the area is great news. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our community to hear the eternal truths of the Christian faith set out clearly and unambiguously.
"We are delighted that so many churches are pulling together to make his visit a success."
