THE heat was on for a Blackpool pupil - but she managed to stay in the kitchen.
Daisy Jones, a Year 9 student at Queen Mary School, reached the northern semi-finals of the Creda Challenge after preparing, cooking and presenting a Millennium meal for four in only one hour.
The aim of the competition is to promote healthier eating in the 21st century and Daisy's dish, entitled Aubergine Audit, was good enough to win her £25 and her school a Creda cooker.
Daisy will now join 48 other hopefuls at Birmingham College of food, tourism and creative studies on April 24, hoping to have the right ingredients to take her to the final on June 4.
