RENOWNED amateur Rugby League club Pilkington Recs are poised to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their founding - and the hunt is on for former players.

For the City Road management intend to parade everyone who turned professional during the half-century at a special event to be held before the Saints v London Broncos clash on Sunday, July 4.

Recs' stars of yesteryear should contact Pilkington official Dave Lane on St Helens 732229 or 818687 (evenings).

Pilks under eights lost 20-4 to Blackbrook, with Matthew Twist scoring their try.

They also lost 34-32 against St Helens Crusaders. Try scorers were top tacklers Matthwe Twist and Mark Hamon (2), coaches award winner Adam Moss, Ryan Hillaird (2), unsung hero Sean Dingsdale and David Saunders.
