Re the report (April 1) on street parking and the comments by Mr John Simm, one of the so called experts that pops up from time to time from within the bowels of Wigan Council.
What is this expert trying to achieve? No on street parking at all or parking on the street but at a premium? If the latter, then a vehicle is going to take up the same space regardless of the space being paid for or not.
What it does do is drive businesses out of town as a result of being strangled by parking restrictions for both residents, customers and staff of businesses.
Mr Simm is intent on carrying out the funeral of a deceased Leigh at the expense of the council tax payers.
The local elections are imminent, I think the council's senior managers should be up for re-election as well.
I await Mr Simms' reply.
