Crusaders gained ample revenge for their defeat at Rochdale earlier in the season.
They had points on the board within the first two minutes when Forber scored under the posts, giving Saunders a simple conversion. Then quick-thinking hooker Cottingham powered his way ovr and Saunders again added the extras. Mayfield hit back but Crusaders added to their account with tries from skipper Fairhurst, (2), Archer and Burns. Forber notched his second of the game before scrum-half Fairhurst intercepted and darted 50 yards to create a try for Abbott. Saunders kicked eight goals from nine attempts.

Gaz Friar registered a hat-trick of tries with Martin Bailey scoring two. Carl Anders kicked three goals and Carl Traynor snatched a drop goal. Man of the match was Dave Lawton.
Crusaders under 12s 10 Halton Hornets 16
A determined effort brought tries for Quinn and man of the match McSpirritt, who added a conversion.
Chorley under 10s 6 Crusaders 24
A fine defensive display was the highlight of this great team effort against a powerful Chorley outfit. Tries came from man of the match Daniel Chantler (3) and Andrew Heath and Craig Dearden added the goals. Top tackler was Paul Ayres and Simon Lawrenson and Andrew Heath earned coaches awards.
Crusaders under nines 22 Halton Hornets 12
Crusaders' defence provided the platform for this victory. Points came from four tries by Lee Gaskell converted by Chris Howell, Martin Harper and Lee Gaskell. Man of the match was Anthony Harden, coaches awards went to Andrew Yates, Lee Gaskell, Shaun Davies and Chris Howell, unsung hero was Ste Lynch, most improved Ste Barton and Ryan Hannan and top tackler was Chima Maxwell.
Leigh Miners Rangers under nines 12 Crusaders 28
Try scorers for Crusaders were unsung hero Lee Gaskell (4) and most improved Martin Harper, with man of the match Ryan Hannon Antony Harden, Andrew Morris and Ste Barton adding the conversions.
Royton Tigers under eights 36 Crusaders 52
Points for Crusaders came from tries by coaches award winner Matthew Harris (6), man of the match Daniel Hilton (2), unsung hero Chris Leigh (2), Daniel Hughes (2) and Chris Smith.
