ECCLESTON second XI started their campaign at Bobbies Lane with a thrilling win against Grange.
Eccleston were put into bat on a very wet wicket and struggled to a meagre 46 all out with only Paul Lynan impressing with the bat, reaching 17. The pick of the bowlers for Grange was Peters with 5-12.
When Grange went in to bat they were tied down. With some very tight bowling by Jimmy Johnson 1-8 in 10 overs and man of the match Lynan with 4-22.
Wickets tumbled for Grange and Eccleston won the very exciting game with four balls to spare. Grange only reaching 40 all out. No Grange batsman reached double figures. Top scorer was Seed with nine.
This weekend Eccleston meet Vulcan in a Lords North West Counties league game.
