THE managing director of a Leigh company is appealing to fellow businessmen to back Bedford High's bid for Arts College status.
The school is aiming to raise £100,000 to achieve its vision of providing performing arts facilities unique to any school.
Peter Miles, of Peter Miles Engineering Ltd., of Derby Street, said: "In order to have any chance of realising their ambitions Bedford High needs substantial private sector sponsorship. They urgently need the support of the business community of Leigh and its near neighbours.
"What could possibly be more worthwhile than the badly needed backing to the schools of Leigh to help their standards?"
However, he explained that there are other ways in which support can be given.
Options include cash donations of £50 upwards, or:
free professional expertise ie architectural
joint projects with companies-organisations who wish to use the school's new facilities, ie video conferencing, audio visual suite
Buying a specific musical instrument, a seat in the theatre or a row of seats.
