THE Cancer Research Campaign has praised the Stirk House Hotel in Gisburn for its fund-raising efforts.
The charity presented co-owner Karen Weaving with a certificate of thanks at a ceremony in Swinton.
The hotel has raised around £20,000 for the Cancer Research Campaign since January this year - and not £7,500 as reported in Wednesday's Lancashire Evening
Telegraph.
The money was raised at various events including a casino night, a night with chef Andrew Nutter and Ribble Valley Ladies' Luncheon Club events.
The Lancashire County Ball on March 20 raised £8,700 alone.
Stirk House raised £27,000 for a range of charities in 1998, with the bulk of the money going to Cancer Research.
Since January it has raised £32,000 for charity, including the £20,000 for the Cancer Research Campaign.
