A COMPANY boss whose firms went bust owing more than £450,000 has been banned from being a director for four years.
Raymond Dobson, formerly of Mellor Brow, Mellor and now living in New Delhi, India, was banned by a court over the collapse of Hoveshaw Ltd and Supral Ltd, two Darwen based furniture manufacturers.
Mr Dobson was a director of both companies which operated from Bee Hive Mill, Moor Lane. Hoveshaw ceased trading in 1996 owing £323,827 and Supral owed £138,576.
Matters found by the High Court in Manchester included that Dobson caused Supral to trade while insolvent and permitting Hoveshaw to enter into transactions which were to the detriment of creditors.
Robert Dennis Taylor, of Moor Close, Harrogate, who was a director of both companies during 1995, was banned from being a director for two years.
