Rossendale United 1 Leek CSOB 3
MICKY Graham's young stags were swept away by a three-goal blitz in a 20 minute spell midway through the second half.
Dale controlled this contest for over an hour as Dominic Burke capped an impressive debut with a goal before some slack defending cost them dearly.
The home side should have been out of sight by half time as Vinne Paterson struck the crossbar and had another effort cleared off the line while top-scorer Craig Sargeson also came close.
But they finally broke the deadlock five minutes after the break when Sargeson crossed for Burke to flick a header over the keeper.
Lee Pugh dragged his side back into it when a mistake from Simon O'Brien allowed him in for a soft equaliser on 64 minutes.
Pugh then put the visitors ahead nine minutes later, tapping home a cross at the back post.
And worse was to come for Dale as Dave Ritchie latched on to a long clearance five minutes from time before beating Darryl Sloane with a cool finish.
