A BUSINESSMAN has been awarded a top accolade from the President of Finland.
Eusop Hussain Khan has been honoured by the country for his work with its forestry industry.
Mr Khan, who came to Britain from Pakistan in 1962, is managing director of Chorley paper firm based Stromsdal and has spent more than 30 years in the paper industry.
He has been in heavily involved with the Finnish forestry industry since 1964 when he joined Star Paper in Blackburn and was responsible for quality control of base paper manufactured by a mill in Finland.
For three years he spent every other month in Finland working on the project.
Now the President of Finland has awarded him the Knight First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland.
