AN inquest will be held tomorrow into the death of baby Jack Andrew Shackleton.
The 16-month-old was found to be dead on arrival at Burnley General Hospital in the early hours of Saturday, April 17, after an ambulance was called to a house in Bar Street, Duke Bar, Burnley.
Police inquiries were begun and Jack's father, Glen Shackleton, 27, of Bar Street, Burnley, and formerly of Blackburn, was later charged with murder. He appeared before magistrates at Burnley and was remanded in custody pending trial at Preston Crown Court. Medical evidence at the inquest will be given by Home Office pathologist Dr John Rutherford. Detective Inspector Colin Barton will then apply for the hearing to be adjourned.
