PLUCKY youngster Rebecca Baxter could soon be a step closer to her dream trip to Australia, thanks to caring bikers.
Three kind-hearted friends from Accrington are gearing up for a 130-mile round trip from Church to Leeds, to raise money for the eight-year-old.
The charity bike ride was organised by Lee Walker, of Percival Street, Accrington and two of his friends after they heard about brave Becky's battle against cancer.
Becky's parents, of Victoria Street, Clayton-le-Moors, are trying to raise funds so she can visit relatives in Western Australia in October.
Becky is undergoing treatment at Pendlebury Children's Hospital, after she was diagnosed with the disease in November.
Events have already been held at Rishton Royal British Legion, The George Hotel in Accrington, and Chapman Containers, Clayton-le-Moors, who have raised more than £1,000 between them.
Now Lee, along with Simon Berry, 17, of Lower Antley Street, Accrington, and Phil Jordan, 26, of Percival Street, are planning to cycle along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to help Becky on her way.
Lee, 22, said: "We were going to ride along the canal anyway, just for the fun of it. But we read about Rebecca in the paper and wanted to do something to help her out." The lads want as much support as possible from local people for the ride on Saturday May 15.
To sponsor the trio, call Lee on 07930 440539.
