PRESTON university student Steve Hanley has had his rugby union season cut short after suffering a cracked wrist.
Hanley, who made his debut in England's crunch five nations clash against Wales at Wembley, suffered the injury when he collided with Welsh man mountain Craig Quinnell.
The damage isn't believed to be serious enough to put his potential place in England's World Cup squad at risk but it means the Sale winger will have to sit out for the remainder of the club season.
At just 19 the University of Central Lancashire sports science degree student has made a meteoric rise to fame. He made a big impression on the international scene when he scored a sensational debut try as England went to look for a grand slam triumph.
Commentators believe his debut was so emphatic that he must be featuring in Clive Woodward's World Cup campaign.
If he does make the starting line-up, it will be a testament of the faith Woodward has in in the country's youth.
