WITH a week to go before the local elections I write with some concern over the apparent lack of political debate on the proposed 'Lancaster South' housing development.
This major development is likely to have serious detrimental effects on the environment and for the citizens of central and south Lancaster.
The political parties views on this issue could be summarised as follows:
Labour - in favour of the development.
Conservatives - not sure, not mentioned in any literature.
Liberal Democrats - would not tell us their view.
Green - against development and advocate use of more brownfield sites.
Concerned voters may thus be keen to question candidates positions on this key issue prior to the election.
