SOME of the top names in the fashion industry descended on the University of Central Lancashire.
Representatives from BHS, First Choice Trading, Freemans, and Red or Dead were just a handful of the labels at the launch of the Preston Casual Jeanswear - a stylish, design-led buyers guide to Preston's casual jeanswear companies.
Sharon Stopford, clothing and textile network manager, said: "Preston is the leading centre for casual jeanswear in the UK. It is host to 26 casual jeanswear companies, including garment manufacturers and processors.
"Around 2,000 people are employed in the industry, producing more than eight million pairs of jeans, casual trousers, shirts and jackets every year."
Preston has now what is referred to as its own 'Asian Tiger Economy'. The guide was produced by Clothing and Textile Network, with funding from the Greater Deepdale Partnership. Sponsorship came from Preston Borough Council, the YKK and Britcorp Agencies.
Model Nicola De-Wilde, 21, is pictured with the guide.
